Total assets
Everything a company owns at the balance sheet date, in one figure.
Total assets is the sum of everything on the asset side: fixed assets such as buildings, equipment and participations, and current assets such as inventory, receivables and cash.
By definition it equals equity plus liabilities — that is what makes a balance sheet balance. One side says what the company has; the other says whose money paid for it.
For most Dutch companies this is the figure that actually is public: micro and small entities still file a balance sheet even when they file nothing else.
